Through the Social Research Center, she has taken part in many development projects as project coordinator and principle investigator, such as:
The Organisation of Work and Production in Qena and Aswan, Social and Economic Impacts of New Egyptian Land Reform Legislation on the Rural Economy, and the Rural Transformation in Upper Egypt.
Has directed and co-directed and participated in the making of a number of documentary films, including: “Four Women of Egypt”. National Film Board, Canada, 1997, and "Marriage Egyptian Style", Under the Sun series, BBC 2, 1992.
She is widely published. Her works include: "Egyptian Workers in Paris- Economic Migration and the Male Burden under Transnationalism". Kvinder, Køn & Forskning (Women, Gender & Research) 2-3/2007
